Kanye West still arouses controversy. The most recent cause for backlash comes from Kanye’s Yeezy collection at Gap, specifically the way it was presented. Ye’s latest additions to his Yeezy Gap collab were being sold in trash bags, a move many saw as disrespectful to homeless people, who West said were his fashion muse.

Kanye defended his decision on Fox News, saying, “Listen man, I’m an innovator and I’m not here to sit around and apologize for my ideas. This is exactly what the media are trying to do. Apologies for any ideas that aren’t exactly how they want us to think. Now Akon has entered Kanye’s corner as well.

According to Akon, people crazy about Kanye’s fashion decisions did nothing to help the homeless themselves. “I personally would tell those same people to take the clothes they’re not wearing and go donate them to the homeless,” the “Bananza” singer said. “Do something. You do something.”

Akon also said it doesn’t matter where Kanye gets his ideas from, and people should see what he does with his inspiration before judging. “I don’t think anyone should have to apologize for anything creative,” he said. “I think what inspires you, or where you are inspired, should no longer be relevant once he materializes it, because it’s an idea that can earn him more money than he can possibly use. to create more opportunities for other people.”

“He says he does it to bring more light to the homeless,” Akon continued. “You have to let him bring that to fruition first…so the energy can be used to help people.”
