Nearly 800 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies are in the Fort Worth shelter and each one is waiting for their forever home. “The shelter has been near or at full capacity for many months, with more pets entering the shelter daily compared to the number of adoptions. Hopefully this adoption event will shine a light on these amazing pets, all of whom deserve eternal, loving homes.
For dogs over 40 pounds and military adoptions, adoption fees will be waived. The City of Fort Worth states, “Adoption fees include an initial medical exam, vaccinations, microchipping, and sterilization services. Adopters also receive a coupon book and a free bag of pet food courtesy of PetSmart Charities.
