Marion County shelter reaches capacity; waives pet adoption fees – WFTV

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Looking to add a four-legged friend to your family? Marion County Animal Services lets you do this for free as it tries to get its dogs adopted as the shelter reaches capacity.

The facility has 130 dogs available for adoption and is waiving fees to bring them home until the end of April.


“We want to offer the citizens of Marion County the opportunity to come to our facility and add a best friend to their family,” Animal Services Director Jim Sweet said in a statement.

Each adoptable animal is neutered or spayed, updated on all vaccinations and microchipped with all owner information.
