Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Unveils New Pet Adoption Center

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla .– The Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in West Palm Beach is growing to meet the needs of countless animals in Palm Beach County.

Staff and volunteers celebrated the unveiling of the new Lesly S. Smith Pet Adoption Center on Monday.

The 28,000 square foot facility will have the capacity to save thousands of additional dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.

“We’re so excited. We were hoping to open in the fall, so it took us a little longer with COVID, but this building is going to be just a huge resource for our community, the animals and the people of Palm Beach County. , “said Rich Anderson, CEO and Executive Director of Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. “We are delighted to have this place to help find new homes for more animals.”

The center includes one cat adoption wing and three dog adoption wings.

The Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League’s new pet adoption center features three outdoor dog playgrounds.

The Cat Wing has four large cat group apartments with “catios”, allowing animals free access to an outdoor area facing the butterfly gardens.

Dog Wings feature large dog adoption rooms for groups of compatible animals, as well as individual kennels, all with outdoor patios that are easily accessible to the animals housed there. At the end of each wing there is an outdoor dog play yard where daily play groups will be held, covered for protection from the sun and heavy rain, and with fans to circulate and cool the air.

The center also features human education conference rooms that will allow Peggy Adams to carry the important message of dog and cat advocacy and care through the new educational programs just launched this year.

The center officially opens its doors to the public on Thursday.
