Titans QB Ryan Tannehill Steps Up Efforts To Encourage Local Pet Adoption

Okay, that was too adorable to ignore. This is definitely not the type of article we typically write on our Titans of Tennessee, but quarterback Ryan Tannehill and several other team members are very passionate about it! What kind of outlet would we be if we didn’t support such a great cause that takes place in our own community?

Tannehill has partnered with Mars Petcare to encourage pet adoption that will coincide with this weekend’s clash between the Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs. Mars Petcare has announced it will cover $ 100,000 in adoption fees at local shelters * in both cities this weekend (October 22-24) to help deserving pets find loving homes.

Before the game, Tannehill, who himself owned several pets, met an adoptable puppy named Franklin at the Titans’ training center. Many animals like Franklin are available for adoption in the Nashville and Kansas City areas this weekend.

This year marks the 13e the annual Adoption Weekend which is part of Mars Petcare’s Better Cities for Pets program, which aims to end pet homelessness. In addition to the costs covered, adopted animals will be sent home with starter kits, including food, coupons, loot and more.

You can find more information at bettercitiesforpets.com/adopt2021.

* Participating shelters: Nashville Humane Association, Williamson County Animal Center and Metro Animal Care and Control in Nashville; and the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City and KC Pet Project in Greater Kansas City, MO.
